Seeking & Cherishing God’s Gift of Hope
“We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield” . . . Psalm 33:20
When you seek hope . . . really make an effort to be aware of how hope nourishes your life . . . then cherish or
hold onto hope, you will discover what you long for, yearn for, and need in your life . . . you will know there is a future.
Thoughts for today & tomorrow . . .
When you are seeking something, you’re going in search of, looking for, and often to trying to discover what that is in your life. When you are seeking hope, you are searching for where hope is alive in your life, and what person, or thing provides the foundation of hope for you . . . Seeking is used when you’re looking for knowledge, truth, and comfort . . . with hope that truth comes with believing in Christ.
It is then important to cherish, or treasure that hope and its source . . . valuing and appreciating what promises God brings to you with the birth of the Child.
God’s grace gives you strength in whatever you face in your life. In hope, we may not get everything we desire,
but we know we are not alone . . . that Christ is with us through the “thick and thin” of our lives.
And you should know that God is listening, watching, and caring about you . . . He is present with you no matter what.
“So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control.
Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you
when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world” . . . 1 Peter 1:13

Go back to your index card, journal, scrap of paper . . . write down what is pressing on your mind right now . . .
remember, God is listening!
