Christmas Eve . . .
God’s Gift of Light
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”
has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge
of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ . . . 2 Corinthians 4:6
God’s Gift of Light through the Kaleidoscope . . .
Let’s go back to where we started . . . A kaleidoscope—a tube containing mirrors and pieces of colored glass or paper, whose reflections produce changing patterns visible through an eyehole when the tube is rotated. . . . looking through the lens at the ever-changing colors, shapes, and patterns that are brought out in the light.
Kaleidoscopes involve broken pieces, that when reflected in the prisms of mirrors and add light – the beauty shines through.
Remember, we are all in pieces and broken bits on the inside, just like a kaleidoscope, but somehow, when you look through each of us, when the right light is added, you begin to see something beautiful and magical.
That perfect light that shines through the broken pieces is Christ, and with that Light shining within and through
each of us, we become beautiful inside and out.
And we need to remember to thank God for the arrival of The Light into the world . . . the Light that brings Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love to earth.
Light itself, is a natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible. All colors depend upon light. Colors
become more vibrant and alive when the light piercing the darkness is Christ . . . you become more vibrant and alive when you let the pure Light of Christ into your heart, soul, and life!
Don’t hesitate to go back to the kaleidoscope for peace and calm, relaxation and refreshment . . . watch the beauty from the tiny pieces of glass . . . and be thankful.
While you have the light, believe in the light,
that you may become sons of light . . . John 12:36
Thoughts for today & tomorrow . . .
Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me
will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life . . . John 8:12
Apart from Jesus, we live in the shadows and dimness. Without The Light, our ability to understand who we are or
what we see in the world is very limited. Christ’s light helps us see beyond the dust, dirt, hurt and sorrow in the world around us, to a place where we can reach out and be vessels of His light to others.
The light of Christ is the glow and luminosity of God shining through the eyes of the human soul. Life can seem wonderful on earth yet is honestly not fully fulfilled without Jesus. We are all created to yearn for the Creator, our Father, and only through a guiding relationship with Jesus will the dark parts of our hearts find and experience the Light.
Light is required for anything to grow, just as Christ is needed for you to grow and mature within the spirit of your heart and soul. Remember to keep Focusing on The Light, and He will guide you in the best direction for your life.
Like you can trust and know that God is ever-present, you can also be assured of Jesus as Light. Jesus is the Light of the world.
I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me
may not remain in darkness . . . John 12:46
Reflections of Light . . .
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world . . . John 9:5
Find that scrap of paper again, an index card, or journal . . . Write down, doodle about, or just think . . . if nothing else,
this will allow you to slow down for a few moments today.
Christ is the Light that awakens your hearts and helps you see what cannot be seen. Christ’s light can give you strength and peace.
What color is your world right now? . . . Are you lost in the darkness? . . . Different shades of gray? . . . Pastels? . . . Vibrant colors?
Is the light within you slowly fading, burning down, out completely, or is it shining brightly?
Let the lights of the holiday cut through the craziness noise, to reflect in your eyes, and refresh your heart and mind
so that your joy and hope grows each day.
The light of Christ in the eyes of others can bring joy to your heart too . . . if you look for it . . . if you let the light in.
Remember to pray . . .
This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you,
that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all . . . But if we walk in the light,
as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another . . . 1 John 1:5,7
Take a few moments of silence and imagine Christ’s Light gently shining down on you and brightening the world around you . . . let the crazy, chaos fade into the background for a few moments and bask in the light and love God provides
to you.
Who do you know that needs a prayer of light . . . a friend, family member, yourself? Say a prayer and lift your concerns to the Lord, sending out a fresh light of love that cuts through the darkness . . . Christ’s Light, Christ’s Love!
God’s gifts of hope, peace, joy, and love shine forth because of The Light.
In the same way, let your light shine before others,
so that they may see your good works and
give glory to your Father who is in heaven . . . Matthew 5:16
God’s Gift of The Light . . . Choose Christ!
