Tuesday’s Love . . .
Seeking and Cherishing God’s Gift of Love
Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens;
your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.
Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the ocean depths.
You care for people and animals alike, O Lord.
How precious is your unfailing love, O God!
All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings . . . Psalm 36:5-7
Thoughts for today & tomorrow . . .
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose . . . Romans 8:28
God’s love, given to each of us through the sacrifice of His son, is a self-sacrificing love, generous (not selfish or greedy), unending, undeserving, extravagant, lavish, limitless, boundless, measureless, and unconditional.
God’s unconditional love, simply put, is love without strings attached. It is love He offers to you freely. He simply loves
you as His child.
Joyce Meyer writes, “The truth is God created us to have relationship with us. He wants to love us and take care of us, and He wants us to love Him. That's where our walk with Christ has to start.”
God, through Christ and the Holy Spirit, has given each of us the most precious gift ever, the forgiveness of our sins
and the offer of eternal life . . . it is there for you and for me . . . and that love provides the foundation of hope that can help us get through all the ups and downs on the journey of life. This divine love is with you at all times.
And this precious gift wrapped in love was brought to earth that first Christmas.
What does God’s love mean to you?
Do you understand the depth of love Christ has shown to you?
This is why it is important to build upon this Godly love and develop and grow in your personal relationship with Him, through Christ and the Holy Spirit. It is amazing how unfathomable and profound His love is for you . . . hold onto it. Because He knows you, and you know Him, together you will get through all the seasons of life.
Reflections of Love . . .
See what great love the Father has lavished on us,
that we should be called children of God!
And that is what we are! . . . 1 John 3:1
God’s love is honestly and faithfully unconditional. He will never fail you or betray you. Though people may let you down, life may be painful or lonely God never will always be there for you. You never need to hold back in your relationship
with Him, because God is perfectly trustworthy.
Think about this . . . there aren’t many people in anyone’s life who are perfectly trustworthy.
Today reflect on these thoughts with deep breaths and long sighs. Intentional breathing is a good place to start . . . taking deep breaths in and blowing slow, long breaths out. As you breath, listen to your body.
Can you feel or hear your heartbeat?
Can you feel the blood pulsing through your veins?
Do you hear your knees crackle a bit?
Does a melody or the words of a song wandering through your mind?
All these are reminders that you are alive!! You are alive in Christ!!
Now turn your focus to your hands. The lines, scars, bumps, and bruises tell a story . . . the story of many different times in your life. As you turn your palms upward, now imagine God’s love filling your palms to overflowing, filling you with love and peace. That is what Christmas time is about . . . reminding us all of the precious gift of love that came down at Christmas time.
Take the time to write down some of the emotions and feeling you are discovering, so that you can revisit them in the days ahead.
Remember to pray . . .
By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life . . . Psalm 42:8
Talk with God today . . . open you ears and eyes to all the sights and sounds around you. God’s love is different from
any other love on earth. It reaches out in ways no other love can, accepts mistakes and forgives, wants the best for
you, yet gives you free will to make a choice to accept Him or not.
Do you struggle with the idea that God loves you, no matter what? Why?
Ask God to open your ears and eyes to the world around you, to see where His love has reached into the depths of others . . . and ask Him to help you understand His love for you is just as deep.
Remember, God didn’t need you . . . but He wanted you . . . and He still wants you . . . His love is bigger than any of
your failures and stronger than any chains that bind you.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and
with all your mind and with all your strength . . . Mark 12:30
Seeking & Cherishing God’s Gift of Love through the Kaleidoscope . . .
By now the ever-changing images, colors, and movements of the kaleidoscope should be becoming familiar . . .
though every twist and turn will always be unique.
As you seek and cherish the love of God, and you watch the movement of the crystal patterns reflecting of the
mirrors . . . let the gentle changes help you find peace and calm, maybe even a few moments of escape from the
hustle and bustle of the season. And remember that, just as God has created the exquisiteness within the kaleidoscope, He has also created a beautifully unique you . . . and He loves you!!
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me . . . Galatians 2:20
